O’REILLY WELCOMES €15,000 ALLOCATION FOR CAVAN UNDER THE STRUCTURES AT RISK FUND 2013

Fine Gael TD for Cavan and Monaghan welcomes the news that two heritage structures in Cavan are to receive €15,000 in funding from the Department of Heritage’s ‘Structures at Risk Fund 2013’.

‘The See House’ Kilmore Upper is to receive €7,000 and the ‘Cavan Parish Church’ will receive €8,000.

Speaking after he was informed by Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Deputy O’Reilly said ‘I very much welcome the announcement from Minister Deenihan that €15,000 was allocated to two heritage sites in Cavan. This scheme began in 2011 and since then has helped to preserve protected structures, which may have otherwise been lost without this assistance.’

‘The See House’ and ‘Cavan Parish Church’ are two very beautiful buildings and it would be a shame to have seen them fall into ill repair. I am glad that the necessary restoration works can be carried out to ensure that these buildings remain standing for years to come’, concluded the Deputy.
