Fine Gael TD for Cavan and Monaghan, Deputy Joe O’Reilly, has today (6th February) welcomed the news from Minister Bruton and An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD, that 200 new jobs are to be created over the next five years by Combilift, as part of a €40 million investment by the company over the next two years in building a new, state-of-the-art, greenfield manufacturing site.

Commenting on this news, the Deputy said ‘I was delighted to be informed by the Minister and An Taoiseach that there are 200 new jobs coming on stream for the Constituency. This is wonderful news for the area. I understand that the majority of the jobs will be in the areas of skilled technicians and design engineers. The land, which is zoned for the site of the new building, will also create a further 200 jobs, during its two-year construction.’

‘The Department of Jobs and Enterprise Ireland are on site to assist Combilift with doubling its current €150 million turnover over the next five years’ continued the Deputy.

‘This Government has been given the task of getting this country back on its feet and today’s news shows that economic recovery is real for people in the Cavan/Monaghan Constituency. In the past two years we have seen a net increase of over 13,500 in employment by Irish exporting companies and we are on track to meet our target of creating 100,000 jobs by 2016’ concluded Deputy O’Reilly.
