O’REILLY SEEKS CLOSURE FOR THE FAMILIES BEREAVED BY THE DUBLIN, MONAGHAN AND BELTURBET BOMBINGS.

Vice Chairman of the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement Committee, Deputy Joe O’Reilly raised the question of the Dublin, Monaghan and Belturbet bombings with Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Mr Owen Patterson, in public session this afternoon.
Acknowledging the courageous and helpful apology to the people of Derry for Bloody Sunday by Prime Minister David Cameron and the recent development in the Finucane Case, Deputy O’Reilly asked the Secretary of State to provide the documents being sought by the affected families and also to consider meeting the families.
In response Secretary of State Patterson accepted the importance of closure for the families but he argued the point that the digests already provided were adequate.
