Deputy Joe O’Reilly met Minister Bruton, Minister for Jobs and Enterprise, yesterday 7th June, to discuss the updated situation at Flair International in Bailieborough. Deputy O’Reilly expressed to the Minister his deep concern about the opportunity of a provider liquidator to Flair International. He requested the Minister to bring all the agencies of State to bear on the situation. He asked that everything possible to assist the workers be done.
Minister Bruton expressed his grave disappointment and sympathy with both the workforce and management of Flair International. He assured Deputy O’Reilly that anything that could be done to alleviate the situation would be done. He stated that the best possible outcome would be if the business was bought by an investor who would continue manufacturing. After the meeting the Deputy stated ‘My heart goes out to the workforce and I am determined to work with both Minister Bruton and Burton and all the agencies of State, to do anything that will help.’
