O’REIILY GETS COMMITMENT ON JOB CREATION FROM CANADIAN PARLIAMENT

A delegation of Canadian Parliamentarians met with the Joint Committee of the Oireachtas for European Union Affairs today, Tuesday 9th October 2012. Speaking at the meeting, Cavan/Monaghan T.D. Deputy Joe O’Reilly stressed the need for Canada to work within the G8 and IMF and for a concerted Job Creation Plan. Deputy O’Reilly went through all the very strong links between Cavan/ Monaghan notably Bailieborough, and Canada. He emphasized the kinship and shared values that exist between Canada and Ireland.

The delegation assured the Committee that they were committed to Job Creation and emphasized the amount of construction work that was available particularly in Western Canada. They agreed with Deputy O’Reilly that concerted action on Job Creation was a priority.

Speaking after the meeting, Deputy O’Reilly expressed his personal delight that at least one member of the delegation was visiting the Genealogical Centre in Cavan this coming Thursday to trace their family roots!
