employment 1Fine Gael General Election Candidate for Cavan/Monaghan, Joe O’Reilly explains how a Fine Gael Government can and will replace all the jobs lost during the economic crisis and create the right environment to bring 70,000 emigrants back home.

“The Live Register Figures for Cavan saw an approximate 27% drop since 2011, when Fine Gael came into Government. This is a clear indication that that this Government’s job creation measures are paying real dividends for Cavan.”

“The government is on track to replace all the jobs lost in the crisis and to bring about a situation where there will be more Irish people coming back home to take up jobs. Incentives such as; Abolishing the USC over five years, reforming the welfare system to make work always pay, cut the lower 8.5% rate of Employers’ PRSI to 6.5% and sensible investment in our public services, will go a long way towards achieving this goal.”

“Our Long Term Economic Plan offers our people the stability and certainty needed to keep the recovery going and aims to have the unemployment rate in every region of the State within 1% of the national average of 6% by 2020. The Fine Gael Jobs Plan will create 200,000 more and better jobs over the next four years, bring total employment to historic high and create the right conditions needed to bring 70,000 emigrants home.”

“I look forward to seeing more Cavan young people returning home where they belong.”
