€151,354 funding for Local Authorities to take 23 developments in charge

Fine Gael Senator for Cavan, Joe O’Reilly, has said €151,354 has been provisionally approved for Cavan County Council to take 23 housing developments in charge.

“The Minister for Housing, Simon Coveney TD, has confirmed to me that €151,354 has been provisionally approved for Cavan County Council to take 23 housing developments in charge.891 will be taken in charge by the Council thanks to this funding.

 

“The housing developments to come under the remit of Cavan County Council thanks to this initiative include Annalee Manor, Ard Dún, Bellamount View, Bother Buí/Bothar Glas, Carrickfern, Carrig Beag, Corner Manor, Cúl na Greine, Curragh park, Drumnavagh Close, Erindale, Headford Grove, Highfield, Meadow Park, Oak Park, Park Avenue, Shamrock Avenue, Shamrock Drive, St. Killian’s Court, Swan Lake Drive, Thorndale Close- Dún, Thorndale Park and Twin Oaks.

 

“This is really great news for housing estates and developments right across the county, that have been left unfinished or in need of further work by developers. Now that these developments will be under the remit of Cavan County Council this work can finally be done, and families can expect to live in high quality developments that are properly serviced.

 

“This funding allocation from Government, also enables Cavan County Council to raise a further €79,075  through bonds and other sources, in order to help finance this initiative.

 

“Minister Coveney has said that this initiative should be seen in the context of the Government’s forthcoming Action Plan for Housing. Funding provided through Local Authorities will support the provision of new infrastructure to support the development of high quality homes for all.”
