Contracts exchanged for new regional Garda headquarters in Bailieborough and planning application to be made soon

I welcome news from the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice & Equality, Frances Fitzgerald TD that contracts relating to the new Garda station for Bailieborough have been exchanged and that the planning application is expected to be made in the near future.

“I am delighted with the news that the contracts for the new Garda station in Bailieborough have been exchanged, and that the planning permission for the development of the new headquarters for the local Garda district is expected to be made in the near future.

“The Department of Justice and Equality have been informed of this progress by Garda Authorities. The development of the new regional headquarters in Bailieborough will greatly benefit, not only the local community in the town, but also the entire Garda district.

“It is of the utmost importance that people can feel safe in their own homes, and on their local streets. In order to ensure people have such a sense of security, it is vital that we adequately resource the hard working men and women of An Garda Síochána.

“The development of the new regional Garda headquarters in Bailieborough will provide Gardaí in our local community with better infrastructure which will support them in carrying out their duties on behalf of local residents across the Garda district.

“I will continue to actively engage with the Department of Justice and Equality regarding the new regional Garda headquarters in Bailieborough until the project is completed.”
