100 MEGABYTE BROADBAND ROLL OUT TO COMMENCE TODAY

The Government is expected to approve the roll-out of 100 megabyte broadband to all second level schools later today (6th March).  Work to provide the first 200 schools with high speed broadband, as previously announced, is expected to go out to tender by September, once the project is given the green light. The subsequent phases of the roll-out will see a further 200 schools equipped with broadband in 2013 and the remaining 240 the following year.

Four schools in Cavan and six in Monaghan will benefit from this development. .In this constituency, we have always been last in the queue when it comes to broadband so I am glad that this Government is doing something to redress the balance.
